“And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and all the people who belonged to Korah and all their goods.”
The earth H776: firm; wilderness world
Here the Hebrew word earth H776 is different from the word earth H127 in verse 30 and ground H127 in verse 31.
“So that my hand shall be established with him; my arm also shall strengthen him.”
“So that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
1 Peter 1:7
“I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.”
“For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried.”
“Yes, I would wander far away; I would lodge in the wilderness; Selah”
“And he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. And he was with the wild animals, and the angels were ministering to him.”
Today, we are being tempted by Satan in the wilderness of the world. And we are with the wild animals, and the angels are ministering to us.
“Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?”
Opened its mouth and swallowed them up,
“And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”
With their households and all the people who belonged to Korah
“You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”
And all their goods.
“And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her, since no one buys their cargo anymore, cargo of gold, silver, jewels, pearls, fine linen, purple cloth, silk, scarlet cloth, all kinds of scented wood, all kinds of articles of ivory, all kinds of articles of costly wood, bronze, iron and marble, cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and slaves, that is, human souls. “The fruit for which your soul longed has gone from you, and all your delicacies and your splendors are lost to you, never to be found again!””
