“If the man who is unclean does not cleanse himself, that person shall be cut off from the midst of the assembly, since he has defiled the sanctuary of the LORD. Because the water for impurity has not been thrown on him, he is unclean.”
If the man who is unclean does not cleanse himself,
“For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them,”
“For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.”
2 Peter 2:20-21
That person shall be cut off from the midst of the assembly,
“But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
Since he has defiled the sanctuary of the LORD.
“I will turn my face from them, and they shall profane my treasured place. Robbers shall enter and profane it.”
Because the water for impurity has not been thrown on him, he is unclean.
Thrown on him: thrown on himself.
“Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.”
