“And Balaam lifted up his eyes and saw Israel camping tribe by tribe. And the Spirit of God came upon him,”
And Balaam lifted up his eyes
Balaam was on the top of the mountain of Peor, and he set his face toward the wilderness; instead of looking down, he lifted up his eyes to see.
“So Balak took Balaam to the top of Peor, which overlooks the desert.”
“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”
“They said to him, ‘What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?’”
“The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, the majesty of our God. Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who have an anxious heart, ‘Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.” Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped;”
And saw Israel camping tribe by tribe.
“You are beautiful as Tirzah, my love, lovely as Jerusalem, awesome as an army with banners.”
Song of Solomon 6:4
“Jesus said to her, ‘Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?’”
And the Spirit of God came upon him,
Then he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.”
