The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “These are the names of the men who shall divide the land to you for inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun.

Joshua H3091: From יְהֹוָה H3068 and יָשַׁע H3467; Jehovah-saved ; Jehoshua (that is, Joshua), the Jewish leader. BDB Lexicon:

Joshua or Jehoshua = "Jehovah is salvation"

Jesus and Joshua are really the same name, although in different languages. The Greek form (in English) is Jesus. The Hebrew form (in English) is Joshua. Both forms of the name mean “The Lord Is Salvation.”
